The medicines containing Oxybutynin as the main component are indicated to treat: overactive bladder symptoms and primary nocturnal enuresis in children.overactive bladder Oxybutynin effectively manages the symptoms of overactive bladder giving the relief to adult and pediatric patients who are at least 5 years old. Overactive bladder may have the following manifestations: frequent micturition, sudden need to micturate, incontinence, dysuria. These are the symptoms of uninhibited neurogenic or reflex neurogenic bladder. The usual dosage form chosen for these symptoms are oral solution and tablets. The extended –release tablets and transdermal system are used to improve the symptoms of sudden need to urinate, urinary incontinence and detrusor overactivity connected to a neurological condition such as spina bifida in pediatric patients who are at least 6 years of age. Oxybutynin offers the effective treatment for the condition known as primary nocturnal enuresis associated with overactive bladder in children. The medicine is not used in patients who suffer from nocturnal enuresis and have normal bladder function.
